The La-Liga debut of goalkeeper Francis Odinaka Uzoho for Deportivo La Coruna has drawn a reaction from the spokesman of the senior national team of Nigeria Toyin Ibitoye.
Uzoho made his La-Liga bow for Deportivo La Coruna in their 0-0 draw against Eibar, a game where he made four saves and won accolades from the media and even his coach Pepe Mel.
Speaking yesterday, the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye said coach Gernot Rohr has been tracking the progress of the soon to be 19 year old long before his debut which has made him the youngest foreigner to have kept goal in the La-Liga.
” We know him (Uzoho) long before his debut. Rohr is aware of him and has been following his progress at the La-Liga side, so his debut is an exciting thing for us especially in an area where the team needs injection.
” He (Uzoho) has to work hard and play more games for the team although his debut has no doubt put him in the picture to be called up to the team. He has to keep working hard and that way it will be impossible for the Technical crew not to notice him”, he concluded.
