The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Kaduna State Branch, has lambasted the Kaduna State Governor, Mohammed Nasir el-Rufai, over his restructuring and staffing Order 2017 of kaduna State local government workers, saying it is a plots to sack their members.
The State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Terry Henry Isaac,
Stated this in a Communiqué he issued after an emergency State Executive Council meeting held in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, local government workers are disciplined, intelligent; and hardworking people, hence it is not fair for anyone to refer to them as redundant because they seem to be redundant as their work has been hijacked by the State government by way of introducing private consultants.
He further stated that el-Rufai government came with a mandate of change and to improve the security situation of the State, regretting that from the look of things, reverse is the case warning that by his action, crime rate will be on the increase in the state.
“The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees urge the State Government to reconsider this circular “Restructuring and Staffing 2017”and revert to status – quo for industrial harmony.
“As a Union, we are calling on all Staff to be law abiding as the Union is doing all it can to dialogue with the State Government to resolve the issue amicably. As workers Union, we believe no local government worker is redundant.
“Therefore, the leadership of our great Union is appealing to our teaming members to remain calm as we dialogue with the Government “, the statement stated.
