IBBU Lapai benefits from $30 million TETFund grant- VC

The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has been offered a grant of over N30million by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for critical research projects to facilitate development drive of the country.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Nasir Maiturare disclosed this yesterday at Lapai when he received on courtesy visit the Executive members of the Correspondent Chapel of NUJ, Niger State Chapter in his office.
Maiturare stated that the grant was the Institutional Based Research component of the TETFund, which would be utilised to explore potential benefits for socio-economic development of Niger State in particular and the country in general.
He said the research cut across fields of sciences, technology, education and humanities.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the visit of the executive members of the Correspondent Chapel and assured them of the Management’s readiness to sustain the collaboration with every media house.
He enjoined them to always be objective in their reportage as the university identified them as critical stakeholders and urged them to cooperate with the Management.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Correspondent, Mr Aideloje Ojo commended the laudable initiatives of the university, particularly on research areas that would contribute immensely to the development of humanity.
