The All Progressive Congress (APC) Chieftain in Plateau state, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim Wadan-Kawu has applauded President Muhammdu Buhari’s administration towards fighting the menace of Boko Haram in the North East and corruption in the nation’s public institutions.
The chieftain who is vying for the seat of House of Representatives for Jos North/Bassa constituency applauded President Buhari during the commission of some projects he provided for the people of his his constituency in Jos.
On Thursday last week, President Buhari launched a book titled, ‘Making Steady, Sustainable Progress for Nigeria’s Peace and Prosperity: A Mid-Term Scorecard’ of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Wadan Kawu explained that from the book he learnt that the fight against corruption was beyond arrest and prosecution of suspects, but that Buhari administration has also strengthened public institutions for accountability and transparency.
According to him, his vying for the seat was pushed by the realization that the people of his constituency (Jos North/Bassa) were misrepresented at the national level and needed to be well represented.
He said, “My people didn’t benefit from any developmental projects from the national level and I saw the needful to offer myself to bring change by providing developmental projects to my constituency.
“Some of my achievements even before party’s primary include commissioning of transformers in Jos North and Bassa, and repairing of pipe borne waters across the Jos North that were abandoned for 20 years,” he added.
