Again, Goje’s 6bn corruption case adjourned to February 2018

The Federal High Court 2 sitting in Jos has again adjourned the alleged six billion naira corruption case against Senator Danjuma Goje till 6 and 7 of February next year.
Recalled that senator Goje has been facing an 18-count charge at the Jos Federal High court boardering money laundring and conspiracy when he was the governor of the state.
At the resumed hearing yesterday before Justice Benjamen O. Quadri, the EFCC prosecuting counsel, Wahab Shittu presented five witnesses whom tendered documents and testified on the matter.
According to PW22, Rabi’at Sa’ad who is an Account Officer from Union Bank told the court that , “ In December 2010, Gombe state had requested N10 billion Commercial Agric Credit loan from CBN through Union Bank and the money was disbursed into Gombe state Fertilizer Account and later repaid back to CBN.
The PW23, Adamu Ali who was the former Gombe state Trasport Manager in his own testimony confirmed to the court that “the Gombe state government had collected N287m loan from three different banks which included Habib bank, intercontinental bank and Diamond bank for the puchse of 50 Nissan and 50 Toyota buses and the loans were repaid back to the banks within the agreed period.”
However, it would be recalled that this case has been in Federal High court for the past five years and been adjourned for more than twenty times within the said period.
