The Registrar and CEO National Examinations Council NECO, Prof. Charles Uwakwe has commissioned an 89 units office accommodation worth the sum of N120million that has lasted for 10 years to ease office accommodation problems facing the Council.
Prof Uwakwe who expressed satisfaction over the actualization of the 10 years dream while briefing newsmen at NECO Headquarters Minna yesterday, said that this would boost service delivery of the workers.
He stressed the need to create an enabling environment to the teaming workers of the Council to be more productive and function well if adequate performance will be enhanced hence to move in to the new building by January next year.
He further attributed the realization of the project to the prudent management of the resources made available for the project and then applauded the procurement department for the provision of the furniture for the edifice to begin operation.
NECO boss also said that for the past ten years the staff has been congested hence maintenance of the structure was crucial as their personal property for the next generation of people who would occupied the building and should make public any equipment challenges so as to proffer solution as quickly as possible.
Uwakwe disclosed that the new building would accommodate three (3) major departments of the Council while calling on the workers to be patient just as it’s a continuous process of development to ease accommodation challenges confronting them.
In their desperate remarks, the Director General Services, Mr Ogborodu and Director, Special Duties, Dr. John Tumba however appreciated the Federal Government and Federal Ministry of Education for its supervision of the project.
