Jigawa to recruit 1,390 English, Mathematics teachers

The Jigawa State Government is set to recruit of 1,390 qualified teachers into primary and junior secondary schools across the state early this year.
The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Salisu Zakar, disclosed this yesterday while reviewing the board achievements in 2017.
Alhaji Salisu Zakar explained that those to be recruited were core-subjects teachers such as English, Mathematics and science teachers.
According to him, “the state government intends to recruit about five thousand teachers before the end of the year to cope with the challenges of inadequate qualified primary and junior secondary schools teachers in the state”.
Alhaji Salisu Zakari added that “this is the first batch and other batches would follow until government provide enough and qualified teachers in all the public schools”.
He added that “the present administration under governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar plans is public school will competes with private schools in term of quality education and pupils and students performance”.
Zakari maintained that the board spent over N7 billion on the provision of blocks of classes and furniture and other working materials in the last two years of this administration.
