The Kano State Police command, has said that it has invited the state Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, over an alleged video, calling on his supporters to stone “political devil” Kwankwaso, on his scheduled visit to the state on January 31.
Speaking to newsmen, yesterday, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Magaji Musa Majiya, also said that 2 sons of the commissioner, and his houseboy, were arrested over alleged attack on the supporters of the former governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
According to Majiya, the commissioner was invited on Monday after the command received a complaint from one MK Umar and Co. that he should be investigated over what they described as an attempt to throw the state into chaos.
He added that the embattled commissioner, who is the former Chairman of the state’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had been released on self-recognition bail, while waiting for the complainants to tender the video where he made the alleged statement.
The PRO further said the sons and house boy of the commissioner, Sani Abdullahi, Abbas Abdullahi and Nazifi Shawuya, had been arrested over alleged attack on Kwankwasiyya faction during a wedding on Sunday.
He said “We received a complaint that the suspects attacked three of the Kwankwasiyya supporters during a wedding. We rushed them to hospital and they were all treated.
“We then arrested the suspects, while investigation is ongoing. If they are found guilty, they will be charged to court.
Majiya also warned against dragging the name of the state’s Police Command into politics, stressing that the command always tries to do justice for all and ensure peace reigns in the polity.
The incumbent governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his former boss Kwankwaso have been long political associates; but now at loggerheads since the former assumed the power.
