Nest Oil plane skid off forced brief closure of Abuja runway

Airport authority briefly closed the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja following the skid off of a plane belonging to Nest Oil yesterday.
The aircraft lost it’s landing gear in the process just as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said it quickly swung into action and put the situation under control as normalcy was restored within the hour.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) later notified passengers and airport users that the runway was now open for normal operations.
The Abuja runway was closed for weeks last year to enable the federal government undertook it resurfacing while flights were diverted to Kaduna airport whilst the repair works last.
