Chairman of the Benue state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Prince Emmanuel Abba Yaro, has said those peddling rumours of Governor Ortom’s purported defection from the party ahead of the 2019 elections were merely fabricating heaps of malicious propaganda to cause disaffection between in the party.
Comrade Yaro who stated this through the party’s Director of Publicity, Comrade Apeh Peterhot, said it was the handiwork of the opposition and other recalcitrant elements whose job was to formulate non-existing stories to please their paymasters.
He said now that elections were at the corners, there would be all forms of spurious sponsorship of injurious media campaigns by the unscrupulous Abuja-based politicians, especially”those PDP scoundrels that were shamefully rejected by Nigerians in the 2015 general elections.”
According to Yaro, it is noteworthy to inform the public that Governor Samuel Ortom is very much with the All Progressives Congress party.
“There is no rift between us in Benue and the party leadership in Abuja. We are working harmoniously to ensure security of our people. The Governor and the party leadership are trying their best to proffer lasting solution to the perennial herders/farmers clashes.
“For the purpose of clarification, the rumours making the round about our Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom’s purported defection from our party, the APC, is false. It is sponsored by the opposition PDP scoundrels who idly wasted the nation’s resources for the sixteen years they held sway, haggardly squandered our funds and rendered the economy ineffectually recessional.
“It is rather a shame that for the sixteen years they stayed in power, the PDP could not point at any industry to their credit, especially in Benue State. They are lazy both in public and their private lives and only resorted to cheap blackmail as a consolation for their dejected stories. They looted the nation but have not even a bread production cottage to their credit. So in their daft situation, all they could do now is to sponsor malicious propaganda against us.”
