Gov. Badaru signs N138.6bn 2018 budget into law

The Jigawa state Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has signed the 2018 Appropriation Bill of N138.6 billion into law.
Badaru had on 28th of November 2017 presented a budget proposal of N134.17 billion for 2018 to the state House of Assembly tagging it as,“Budget of sustained Economic Growth and Social Transformation.”
The budget was, however, slightly above the 2017 budget by about 3.3 percent.
The budget that witness the increase of 3.3 percent was signed into law yesterday, five days after the state House of Assembly passed into law.
He appreciated the House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill, adding that the speed was a record time in the history of the state.
The governor also sought for more support of Jigawa people for better Jigawa state.
