Insecurity: NAF assures of prompt deployment of personnel to Nasarawa, Benue

The Nigeria Air Force has assured the prompt deployment of its officers to combat criminality in Nasarawa and Benue border towns.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Baba Sadiq Abubakar who gave the assurance when he paid a visit to Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura at the Government Houses Lafia yesterday, called for synergy with the state government in order to enable NAF actualize its dream towards riding out criminal elements in the state.
Accounting to Sadiq, “ The Air Force Authority closely follows the activities of the Nasarawa state government towards improving the living standard of the people. We are here to partner with the state government in the area of security. Last year we embarked on security surveillance and discovered that it is indeed pertinent to establish a unit in the state”
The Chief of Air Staff said that with the establishment of NAF unit in the state and the immediate deployment of officers would add value to the security operation in the state; added that it would also create and enabling environment for people to carry out their legitimate Businesses without fear.
He further opined that apart from the NAF operational unit, the NAF Authority will also embark on humanitarian services especially on establishment of medical outreach to rural communities in the state.
“ I call on the state government to give us the necessary support for the NAF to achieve all the designed plan for the state which it has been one of the cardinal responsibilities of us to render good services to communities across the country,” Sadiq maintained.
Resounding Governor Umaru Tanko applanded the Air force Authority for initiating move to deploy its officers to the state; added that the step taken is at the right direction and timely viewed from the recent Nasarawa/Benue attacks.
His words “ our security in the state has added another value. I commend you for the initiative to bringing lasting solution or peace in this corridor. This will fully bring lasting solution to the Nasarawa and Benue border skirmished.
Governor Almakura who commended the NAF Chief for his role play in adding value to the force, describing the military in the country as a committed force.
“You have developed capacity building for the Air force compared to then. Nasarawa state government will support for the immediate take off of Air force operation unit in the state with all logistics required,” Almakura assured
