Why we need youth empowerment –Hon Heinz

The Chairman/Chief Executive of New Nyanya Group of Companies, the operators of New Nyanya Transport Company Limited and other business concerns, Hon. Ambassador, Chief Samuel Heinz Onah has stressed the need for youth empowerment in the nation saying that it will ensure stability and all round development in the country.
Hon. Heinz while addressing a gathering of egg heads last week in Ecuador Embassy Abuja which included the Ambassador of Ecuador, His Excellency, Leopoldo Rovayo Verdesoto said the youth need empowerment to enhance their God given potentials.
The event was the monthly Young Journalists Forum with the Embassy of the Ecuador with the topic: “Role of Youths in Peace Building in Africa”.
Heinz who has more than 2000 people in his employ said that he will continue to create jobs to compliment President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda of repositioning and transforming the economy through job creation.
The Abuja based business mogul noted with pleasure that job creation should be the priority of everyone as it will reduce the pressure posed by high unemployment rate which often time make youth to adopt the “Man must wakk” mantra.
Heinz who thanked the Ambassador for inviting him promised to work with the ambassador towards making maximum use of the potentials and opportunities that abound in his country.
He however, urged the youth to be of good behavior and conduct themselves in a manner that will always show them as a good ambassador of the country.
Speaking during the occasion, Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf
Aregbesola, who was represented by Hon. Idia Babalola, the Commissioner for Federal Matters in Osun State discussed in depth the role of youths in building peace in the continent of Africa.
Amb. Verdesoto said that Ecuador and Nigeria have a lot in common and should always strive to get the youths engaged so as to be able to build a better nation.
Deputy Director, Currency Operation Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria-CBN, Dr. Vincent Wuranti stated that the absence of peace is unpalatable, adding that there are reasons why young people react.
