The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, FCT Chapter, will hold its 2018 elections on April 20, FCT SWAN Electoral Committee, SWANECO said in a statement.
The statement jointly signed by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Jide Fashekun and Secretary, Mike Oboh in Abuja, yesterday, stated that the sale and return of nomination forms by candidates will close tomorrow.
The committee also advised members to renew their membership of the association for this year as the list that will be used, will be drawn from the register of the National SWAN on or before 10th April, 2018.
According to the election guidline released, the committee fixed April 3-14 for the Screening of candidates, 15 April for publication of the list of cleared or not cleared candidates while the publication of list of members will be on April 16
The Committee further scheduled April 17-22 for Claims and Objections of membership/candidates, claims and objections by members and candidates is slated for April 23. Publication of final list of cleared candidates and members will be.on April 24 while 25 April is manifesto day from 10am – 12noon.
April 26, is set aside for congress, election and swearing-in ceremony.
The statement further notes said that firms are available for purchase with Chairmanship form sold for N15, 000, Vice Chairman N12, 000 while the list form goes for N10, 000.
The cost of the forms is:
1. Chairmanship N15,000.00
2. Vice Chairman N12,500.00
3. Secretary N12,500.00
4. Treasurer N12,500.00
5. Asst Secretary N10,000.00
6. Fin Secretary N10,000.00
