Benin monarch offers N4.68m as stipend to Libya returnees

The Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has offered the sum of N4.68 million to alleviate the plight of returnees from North African countries.
Most of the beneficiaries are Nigerians in Edo state were from Libya which has become the epicentre of human trafficking and illegal migration via the Mediterranean Sea and other deadly routes.
The gesture which captures 78 of the returnees and will run concurrently for the next three months, while each beneficiary get the sum N20, 000 (Twenty Thousand naira) at the end of every month.
In addition to other benefits, the Oba Ewuare II Foundation will immediately provide the necessary tools/facilities for those who had gone through various special skills acquisition training.
The royal father, announced this when he played host to Libya returnees in his palace in Benin City.
He expressed disappointment over the mentality of desperate Nigerian youths who do not want to make money through legitimate means.
