Lawmaker lauds Oba of Benin gender sensitivity

The Oba of Benin has been commended for the rare privilege given to women to present cases before the great royal court also known as “Ugha Ozolua”, Palace ground.
Edo state House of Assembly member representing Uhunmwode Constituency, Mrs. Elizabeth Aitivie gave the commendation when she paid a visit to the Oba Ewuare II yesterday in Benin.
“Today, women have the rare opportunity to appear before your royal Majesty to be heard”.
She said the Oba has been the pillar of support during her suspension over alleged refusal to return some officials after her tenure as Speaker of the House of Assembly.
Mrs. Ativie, said the abolition of illegal activities of Community Development Associations (CDA’s) and the recent pronouncement by Oba Ewuare II on human trafficking and illegal migration, Edo state has witnessed peace and progress.
