Following the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Nigeria Health workers, about seven patients have been confirmed dead yesterday at the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent at the weekend, one of the staff who don’t want his name in print said he lost his brother on Saturday for lack of medical attention.
Our correspondent further gathered while visiting the center that only the doctors and some senior staff that were on duty.
He added that the hospital was empty due to the strike action.
“We lost some patients due to lack of attendance and caring from the medical workers, we want Federal Government to come to the aid of the health personal who are being on strike in order to save the people’s lives”.
Speaking to newsmen, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Center Dr. Abdulhai Ibrahim denied the allegations, saying they usually refer some of the critical cases to state owned hospital or any private clinic.
