Stolen Mace: Gombe Assembly suspends 4 APC members

Gombe State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed the suspension of four APC members who played key roles in stealing the Mace of the House.
Member Representing Shongom constituency, who is also majority Leader of the House Hon, Fabulous Amos said the suspension of the members was
necessary based on the offence they committed.
He said they carried away the Mace to undisclosed place while plenary was ongoing without any proper arrangement by the floor of the House.
According to him, 8 APC members prayed to the House to change its principal officers but out of 8 members only four of them signed for the impeachment of the minority Leader Hon. Ahmed Usman Haruna representing Gombe North constituency.
He said the decision taken by the APC members in the House was not cordial, even as he said their actions was baseless.
Hon. Fabulous who is equally the Chairman committee on information gave the names of four suspended members as Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar, Hon. Mohammed Bello, Hon. Ibrahim Sadiq Abubakar and Hon. Walid Mohammed, saying both of them were suspended for four legislatives days.
While addressing Journalists, he said the House has set a committee to investigate the matter and that the committee are expected to get back to the House on Monday.
When Journalists called on the minority leader for clarification, who happened to be an opposition leader in the House, he refused to pick the call.
