FCT Minister tasks journalists on professionalism

Date:

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has tasked journalists to always keep government officials on their toes, so that they do not relent in delivering on their mandates.
Malam Bello made this call while addressing a cross section of the media in his official residence, Life Camp, recently.
Bello who commended journalists for their diligence and professionalism, pledging that the FCTA would not only continue to deliver on its mandate, but also improve on what has been done by previous Administrations.
“Obviously, Abuja is growing and changing, because of the natural system of demography. It is incumbent on all of us to do our best and make Abuja grow as it should be -a city of unity, a city that works, a city that, we should, at any point in time, feel proud of as Nigerians that we have it and a city that we should make sure the vision of the founding fathers is realized.
“It is very important for the press to also put us on our toes, because usually if you do something continuously for too long complacency sets in, but this should not be allowed to happen in Abuja, at all.
The FCT Minister therefore praised the passion of the journalists for the development of the FCT, especially members of the FCT Press Corps, adding that his relationship with them would transcend his stay in office.
Chairman of the FCT Press Corps, Mr. Ikharo Attah, while making his comments earlier lauded the Minister for continuing with and completing abandoned projects, saying it was only then that such projects would be useful to the residents.
Ikharo particularly praised MM Bello for the numerous completed and ongoing projects across the length and breadth of the nation’s capital.
He mentioned some of the projects to include inner southern expressway, the outer northern expressway, the road behind Aso Villa and the others by Games Village, Gudu/Apo, as well as the popular Gbagalape and Apo-Karshi roads, among others.
The chairman also praised the Bello-led FCTA for making FCT hospitals and schools one of the best in the country, even as he urged them not to relent in their efforts, saying there was always room for improvement.
