Handle Plateau attacks with wisdom, PFN scribe urges Buhari

President Mohammadu Buhari has been urged to employ wisdom in tackling the issue of insecurity so that the killings in parts of Nigeria do not degenerate into a complete security collapse for the nation.
Apostle Emmanuel Kure of the Throneroom Ministry in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area, who gave this advice yesterday during a special prayer programme for Nigeria, further urged the Kaduna State Government to take pre-emptive measures at ensuring that the attacks do not spread to Southern Kaduna.
In his message to the President, Kure who doubles as the Secretary-General of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria said the Plateau attacks should be a wake-up call to president Buhari in view of the dozens of lives that got lost in a single day. He added that Nigerians are desperate for pragmatic security measures that would stem the killings across the country and the President has to provide that security.
He appealed to the youths in Plateau state to hold their anger and refrain from venting it out as it would only result in more bloodshed.
He also appealed to all the stakeholders in Plateau State to unite for the sake of their survival.
While asking the President to resign if the task of presiding over the affairs of the country proves too difficult for him, Kure went ahead to tell the All Progressive Congress (APC) party to choose another presidential candidate in 2019 or face the consequences.
On his advice to the Kaduna state government, Kure said the pattern in previous attacks is that once communities in Plateau state get attacked, then villages in Southern Kaduna start getting attacked too.
He then calls on the security agencies to stay alert and do all that is possible to ensure nothing happens in Southern Kaduna.
In his sermon, the former chaplain of the Aso Rock Chapel, Reverend Williams Okoye, who spoke on the topic: thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,’ said the Church is expected to play a prominent role in the rebirth, reformation and reconstruction of the country through a re-definition of the nations’ morality, code of conduct and discipline.
“We must, therefore, strive to make the fear of God and righteousness the foundation upon which this nation is built if we expect to see the turn-around in the fortunes of our beloved nation,” he noted.
The monthly prayer programme tagged ‘wings of the spirit’ had in attendance, elder statesman, Professor Jerry Gana, former Minister of Communication, Labaran Maku, former governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang, some Senators, House of Representatives and State Assembly lawmakers from Kaduna, Plateau, Taraba and Nasarawa states. The programme also had in attendance guests from Zimbabwe, Cameroun and other African and Caribbean countries.
