As general elections draw nearer, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe State, Auwal Abdullahi Kumo has thrown his support for Sen. Ahmed Makarfi to be elected as Nigerian President come 2019.
In an interview with Journalists yesterday in Gombe, the chieftain said among aspirants contesting for Presidential position under the platform of PDP Sen. Ahmed Makarfi has the quality to occupy the seat of the President.
He assured that if the mantle of leadership is given to Makarfi base on his track record will take the country to another level.
According to him, Sen. Makarfi who is known with credibility will always ensure success of the nation even as he said his aspirations will never be defeated.
When asked by Journalists to explain why he will not support Presidential ambition of governor Dankwambo, the chieftain said Dankwambo failed to fulfill his campaign promise to the people that elected him into power.
He said he has no reason to support his ambition due negligence of the Governor who failed to carry his people alone when elected in 2015 general elections.
Despite the development of infrastructure that took place during Dankwambo administration nothing was done in human development who voted for him, he said.
“Our eyes have opened; we can only elect people of integrity, those who can fulfill their campaign promises and put smile on the faces of the electorate.
“As for me, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi is the right candidate to elect as President of this country,” the chieftain added.
