Staff of New Nigerian Newspapers has urged owners of the company, the Nineteen Northern State Governors to appoint a substantive Managing Director who would chart a new course for the company towards actualizing the goal of owners by offsetting staff salaries and entitlements.
The staff stated this in statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
According to the statement, appointing a new Managing Director had become necessary in view of the lack of direction and total state of disarray of affairs at the company.
“Since the demise of the former Managing Director Tukur Abdulrahman who passed away two months ago, staff of the company have been left in the dark as to who is heading affairs of the company since they have not received any official notification form the owners. Therefore, the appointment of a new MD has become necessary.
“The current state of lack of direction should not be allowed to continue by the Northern Governors in order to save New Nigerian and position it to be an effective institution,” the staff observed.
Staff of the company frowned at slow process at paying pensioners their entitlements after they have been verified by PTAD.
