Rural education way to fight poverty- FG

The Federal Government has noted that the a quality education in the rural schools is one of the ways to fight and eradicate poverty.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Science and Technology ,Dr Ogbonnaya Onu during a courtesy visit by the Organisation for Women in Science Development(OSWD) to the Minister’s Office in Abuja.
He noted that the Poverty in the rural areas is more than the urban areas across the country.
Further speaking, he noted that working with OWSD will enable the federal government reach the rural community especially the girl child.
According to him, they are interested in rural school which will help them annex the fullest of human capital.
“We believe that working with you make us reach our girl child in the country, because we are more interested in the rural schools.
“It is one of the way to really fight and delete poverty, because poverty is more in our rural community”, he said.
Earlier, during her address, the National President of OWSD, Professor Ibiyinka Fuwape commended the Ministry for its financial and moral support to the Organization in fighting challenges facing Girl Child in the Country.
She assured that the Organization will carry out advocacy and sensitization to give meaning changes to education standard of the nation.
She said the main objective of the organization is to raise female that will succeed this generation, represent women in the World and make a positive impact.
According to her, OWSD is looking forward for a sustainable partnership and collaboration with the Ministry for effective result.
