The Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia said the defection of the senator representing Jigawa North East , Senator Ubali Shitu to the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) is a blessing to the ruling party, APC, and to the President Muhammad Buhari.
The deputy governor made the statement while speaking to newsmen in Hadejia, the home town of the senator, shortly after an inspection visit to some capital projects.
According to him, the defection of the serving Senator is nothing rather a betrayal to President Muhammadu Buhari and APC as his defection will not in any away affect Buhari’s second term victory and APC at all level in the zone.
“His (Senator shittu) defection to PDP will not in any way affects the President Muhammadu Buhari and all the APC candidates in the 2019 general election. He left alone.”
“You see his changing from APC to PDP in this senatorial constituency (Jigawa north east) is a blessing to the party (APC) because he offended the electorates as performed badly which made the people in the district angry with him,” he said.
“I have the hope and confidence that the people of Hadejia Emirate known their rights, good and bad side of lives; and no one will deceive or play them,” he stated.
He explained that the present administration at the centre and the state is doing its best in transforming lives of people in both rural and urban area.
“You can bear me witness as you have seen by your selves how the APC governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar led administration executing various developmental projects in all human sectors in this senatorial district and the state at large.”
While speaking on his senatorial ambition, the deputy governor said, “People were calling me to aspire, but I have not decide on that. I have to make thorough and wide consultation before my pronouncement.”
