Nasril Fathi Society of Nigeria Chairman Kaduna State Chapter Ustaz Muyideen Alimi Yusuf urged politicians in the country to stop using killings going in the country as political weapon.
The scholar explained that any politicians that love Nigeria’s progress will never use killings of innocent people as yardsticks to attain political office.
According to him, selfish politicians are responsible for division among Nigerians just to gain a political ambition.
He made the statement shortly after inaugurating new members of executive of the NASFAT Kaduna branch.
“If you love Nigeria why can’t you support the government to end killings of innocent Nigerians without you being in the corridor of power.
“Why must you insist that people should vote you to help address the killings. We are calling on politicians not to use the current killings taken place in the country as political weapons.
“NASFAT is apolitical society and none tribal organizations but it’s sad to here our politicians from all political parties using the killings of inncent people as excuse to gain power. This is very wrong.
“Our politicians must stop dancing on the grave of the dead people. We must stop using killings as political gain. As a people let do our best to save this country,” he said.
Ustaz Muyideen also said that the saddest point of it all is that most Nigerians don’t seem to celebrate good people that contributed to the development of Islam and the country.
“There lot of our scholars that gave their support for the development of our religion and the country but we don’t see them as role model we prefer to see bad politicians who still and loot our treasury as role model.
“This is very bad for us and the country and We must make use of our good societal values which has to do with respecting each others tribe and religion and also seen ourselves as human beings,’ he said.
The State Chairman who also spoke on the contribution of NASFAT towards promoting peace in the state.
“NASFAT goal is to promote peaceful coexistence among Nigerians irrespective of tribes or sects. We are also doing our best to profer suggestions to government. On ways to end this killings in the country.
“We are also collaborating with other muslims organizations across sects to promote peaceful coexistence in the country,” he said.
On the achievements of NASFAT in the area of jobs creation he said the group was able to trained over 3000 youths on vocational training .
He explained that some of them were trained on cake baking, soap making among others.
In his remarks, NASFAT Zonal Vice Chairman Adekunle Adesanya charged the incoming executives in the State to purify their intention and to fear their creator that gave them the position as they discharged their duties.
The outgoing women Leader Hajiya Kudirat and the Public Relations officer to the group Zainab Tanimu also urged the incoming executives to carry every member along and that they should also have listening ears.
