Date:

From Mohammed Ibrahim, Kaduna

Former Director General (DG), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sani Sidi, has explained why he joined Kaduna governorship race.
Sani declared his intention to vie for the state governorship position on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week Tuesday.
According to him, he joined the race to free the state from insecurity and other social vices.
The aspirant made the statement during a tour of wards and local government councils of the state ahead of party primaries of the PDP.
He said the tour is aimed at meeting party leadership and other key stakeholders in the 255 wards and 23 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, he urged all party delegates to remain committed to the ideals of the party anchored on sustainable developments at all levels.
“My vision is to rescue the state from the current state of insecurity; kidnapping and other myriads of problems facing our dear state and unite our people towards sustainable development. As members of our great party, we must resolve to ensure that we uphold the ideals of the party,” Sidi Said.
The team commenced the tour on Thursday visiting Kudan, Makarfi, Sabon Gari and Zaria local government areas and continued on Friday in Ikara, Kubau and Soba local government areas.
Our correspondent gathered that so far about eight PDP bigwigs have indicated interest to vie for the governorship position on the PDP platform, among them are former governor of the state, Ramalan Yero.
