The battle for elective seats in Yobe state for the 2019 general elections has started as opposing groups have started to emerge, challenging the decision earlier made by the Gaidam-led APC group that chooses indirect election for the primary election in the state.
However, the Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has assured that his group would emerge victorious against any group that chooses to challenge his decisions on the coming elections, adding that he has not stopped anybody from contesting for the post or any other position in the election.
He made this statement recently while speaking on the occasion of a lecture organized by a group on the umbrella of ‘the state Coalition for inclusiveness and good governance, which took place at the Yobe state Cultural Center, Damaturu, the state capital, where he officially unveiled his successor to-be, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the National Secretary of APC.
“We have not prevented others to seek for the position, but based on the mandate given to me to select a suitable candidate by the stakeholders of our party, we have chosen him to run for the governorship ticket,” the Governor stated.
