The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State chapter, has refuted claims published in some National Dailies that it would give automatic ticket to defectors.
State Chairman of the party, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, refuted the claim yesterday while interacting with reporters in Bauchi, where he clarified that “new members or defectors who stay for two weeks in the party are eligible to contest for any elective offices on our platform as it is in the PDP constitution and guidelines.”
He said the state chapter would be guided by the instructions of the National Headquarters in all its actions.
“I just called you this afternoon to dispel a rumor or news carried by a media that Bauchi state chapter has talked about issue of automatic tickets to some of these people who decamped from APC to PDP. I want to assure you this thing has never been discussed at the state level. The Bauchi state chapter is a loyal organ of the national office of the PDP. So, whatever they decide, we are obliged and we are ready to comply with whatever they say to us.
