VOXPOP: Who will you vote in 2019 presidential election?

Date:

February next year, Nigerians will go to the polls to elect a president for fresh term of four years, several aspirants have indicated interest to contest the election, in this vox pop, Hafsat Abdullahi and Henrietta Attah Lucy sample the views of people on the street regarding who they will vote for in the Presidential election, as well as what they expect from the government.

Oluwatosin Samuel

I want to vote Atiku Abubakar in the next presidential election. I believe President Muhammadu Buhari will not win the election except if the election is rigged. If the election is free and fair, I do not see him wining because he made a lot of unfulfilled promises and therefore we want to change the change. I stand for PDP, Atiku is more ambitious and ready to meet up the needs of the people. I expect the government to work on security of the country because the killings we are experiencing today are not acceptable. And the economic situation of the country needs to be improved so that the prices of food in the market will be affordable.

Sani Muhammad

I will vote for President Muhammadu Buhari for many reasons. I like Buhari because he has done well in the area of security, he has fought corruption. People don’t like Buhari because they are not able to steal money. I am very sure Buhari will win the election as nobody among the presidential aspirants will be able to defeat him because none has his qualities. I think that the PDP aspirants are just playing. But I feel that among the PDP aspirants and looking at the last election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will win the primaries. Only Kwankwaso will be able to compete with Buhari. The government should give attention to security, as regards this election, to enable the people to come out and vote. Security is very necessary for elections as that is the first place that problem arise from.

Mahammed Jamilu

I will vote for Muhammadu Buhari because I want him to complete eight years to enable him finish the work he has started and also for him to correct his past mistakes. He is the only sure candidate for the election and nothing will stop him from winning except God because we are still with him. I expect him to create more job opportunities and I believe he will do better. Other candidates will come for the money and not the people.

Madam Martha

As for me, I really don’t know who to vote for because in my church, we wrote our names so we can vote one person; all of us, so no need to go and vote another person. I want Nigeria to be better so that everybody can enjoy it, they should make things cheaper in the market for us also.

Nwachukwu Prince

Base on the present situation of the country, the high prices of things in the market, everybody knows what is going on, everybody needs change, I Will like to vote Senator Musa Kwankwso because President Muhammadu Buhari is not capable, and the people surrounding him are giving him wrong advice and we need someone younger to be able to run the country because Buhari is too old to shoulder the problems of the country. So Buhari cannot win the election because he is incompetent. We need change and not just by writing but change by action, so I want the government to create more jobs for Nigerians, create social amenities like water, good roads etc. Also, I want government to improve the security of the country because of all these killings are not acceptable.
