Gov Badaru releases N407m for pensioners’ payment

The Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has released the sum of N407,863,080.93 as terminal benefit to pensioners for the month of September 2018.
The acting Executive Secretary of the Jigawa state and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme Board, Alhaji Musa Muhammad ‘Yalleman announced the development while briefing news men in his office at Dutse, the state capital.
According to him, the total amount was shared among both state local government council and local government education authority retirees across the 27 local governments in the state.
He explained that, the sum of N281,681,934 million was released to 193 beneficiaries as retirement benefit, and the sum of
N110,615,210.04 to 60 beneficiaries as death benefit, N15.325,531 to 26 beneficiaries as death pension balance while the sum of N240,404.69 to three beneficiaries as refund of 8% contribution.
‘Yallemen maintained that, as the Jigawa state government succeeded on timely payment of pension, about four neighbouring states including Kano, Zamfara, Gombe and Katsina visit the board to emulate the payment system.
He commended Governor Badaru for the support and cooperation given to the board and other management staffs of the board for the success recorded.
