Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has disclosed that 23 people were killed in various parts of Kaduna metropolis following skirmishes that took place on Sunday.
The Executive Secretary, SEMA, Ben Kure disclosed this yesterday when he embarked on an assessment tour of affected areas.
Kure called on the people of the state to embrace peace and shun violence.
He reiterated that no society can progress without peace as an essential ingredient.
The Executive Secretary commiserated with the injured, while extending condolences to the families of the bereaved.
He assured of government’s commitment at ensuring a conducive environment for all to live peacefully through the provision of security.
Kure thanked the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai for his unflinching support to the agency.
After touring Kaduna metropolis, he embarked on a visit to Kasuwan Magani, where 55 people were said to be killed last week, to present relief materials.
