Castor seeds production is to receive a boost with the delivery of 500kg of hybrid seeds to Kebbi State castor farmers by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council Abuja.
Receiving the consignment yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, State Secretary of Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria FACAN, Abubakar Bagudu Kalgo commended the Council for the intervention stating that Kebbi castor farmers are overwhelmed with the gesture.
He promised to justify the magnanimity of RMRDC by ensuring mass production of castors seeds across the entire state.
Alh Abubakar Kalgo assured that very soon stakeholders meeting will be convened to mobilise reasonable number of farmers to partake in castor production during next farming season.
He also disclosed that a capacity building workshop for castor farmers is being worked out in collaboration with relevant government agencies and commodity promoters for sustainable production and marketing of the castor products in the state.
