Zamfara farmers can’t cultivate farms due to armed bandits -Commissioner

Seventy percent of farmers in Zamfara state across the 14l local government areas were not able to cultivate their farm lands due to armed bandits in the state.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alh. Bello Dankande Gamji Walin Bakura while presenting four million naira to some people that recovered 4 ak47pistols from armed bandits in bukkuyum and Talata mafara local government areas in zamfara state
According to him, as a result of armed banditry in Zamfara state, many farmers were forced to abandon their farms land for fear of attacks especially those located in the villages and Far distance areas away from state capital and local government areas this he perceive may lead to føod insecurity in the state
While presenting the cash to the gallant men in his office, he emphasized government’s readiness to give out One Million Naira to any person or groups of people that can give information on anybody that brought AK 47 and possibly armed robber to Zamfara state.
He said that, the names of the gallant men would not be disclosed to public for security reasons.
He informed that, the good people of Zamfara state that their concern now is not elections but rather the security and welfare of the people at grassroots.
