Boko Haram: Bama residents plan to counter attacks

Jos Residents of Bama town in Bama local government area of Borno state over the weekend said henceforth they would try all possible means to protect themselves and their property against insurgents since the federal government has failed to ensure their safety.

The residents made this known when the member representing Bama constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Abdulrahman Terab visited the area to assess the level of damage during the attack.

area, they would sacrifice to keep their territory safe.

He said: “Residents in Bama have flared into temper over the incessant killings and the destruction of properties in the area.They said they did not know when the government would come to their rescue and that is why they have decided to protect the area themselves”.

In assessing the degree of properties destroyed and the causality figure resulting from the attack, Terab said the death toll so far stands at 96, while 250 houses and 300 cars were burnt.

It would be recalled that Bama town was attacked barely two weeks ago, where many people were killed and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by the insurgents.
