Ndigbo, AMAC chair partner on development

The Igbo Community in Idu-Koro, Abuja and the executive chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdulahi Adamu Candido recently met in the ancient city of Idu-Koro and discussed on how to
partner with each other toward achieving a common goal.
The discussion took place during a recent familiarity visit of the chairman to the ethnic group in the village.
In a remark, Emeka Chilaka, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jiwa ward where Idu-Koro falls into told the chairman that other geopolitical zones in the ward have benefitted from jobs, appointments, among others in the area council, with the exception of south east geopolitical zone.
This he asked the chairman to address in order to continue to enjoy the support of the ethnic group.
Similarly, another prominent member if the party in the ward, Chuka Ezekwugo told the chairman to ensure that he did a serious consultation before giving appointment to any Igbo person in the area council. He said akkwges that all his appointees from the ethnic group were not carrying their people along.
In a response, the executive chairman urged the community to give their support and vote to the APC in order to continue what he described as good work the party in power has been doing in the area council.
He however, blamed the issue of marginalisation of the ethnic group to their appointees from the area.
Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of Ndigbo in the area, Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka commended him for performance and urged him to keep the pace in order to continue to enjoy the support of his people.
