The Police in Katsina has arrested a notorious member of a kidnapping syndicate and a trans-border Indian hemp trafficker with 26 parcels of suspected Indian hemp in Katsina.
The command spokesman SP Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in katsina.
He said the kidnapping syndicate member, Magaji Gudaji 30, was arrested at Dayi, Malumfashi LGA, while the trans-border Indian hemp trafficker, Sani Sanusi was apprehended at kwangalan in Mai’aduwa LGA of the state.
According to him, the kidnap kingpin had threatened to kidnap a popular businessman or be ready to pay a ransom of N2m.
However in the course of investigations, one Itel handset with MTN No. 08164374093 used in the commission of the offence was recovered. A threat note written by the suspect was also recovered in his possession.
It further added that, the Suspect has confessed to the commission of the crime and investigation is in progress.
Similarly, he stated that, the notorious trans-border Indian hemp trafficker was arrested in possession of 26 sealed parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp while on transit to Niger Republic.
In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have specializes in trans-border Indian hemp trafficking across the borders of Nigeria and Niger Republic, while investigation is ongoing.
