NOUN establishes incubation centers in six geo-political zones

The leadership of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has established incubation centres across the six geo-political zones across the country.
This is even as the management of NOUN had created a Directorate of Learning Content Management System that would be charged with responsibility of bridging the gap between the students and the lecturers whenever they may be.
The director in charge of the Special Study Centre for Immigration Services of NOUN in Gwagwalada, Dr. Greg Onwodi disclosed this while presenting the speech of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abdallah Uba Adamu during the 18th matriculation ceremony held at immigration study center in Gwagwalada on Saturday.
According to Uba Adamu, the gazetting of the amended NOUN Act which was signed into law by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has placed NOUN at par with every other university in Nigeria.
He said: “it is with utmost joy that I welcome the new set of students who have enrolled into the National Open University of Nigeria for their academic journey”.
He pointed out that the management of the Open University would remain committed to provide the students with the most delighting experience that any university could render across the globe.
His words: “The National Open University of Nigeria is a unique university, as such you must bear in mind that our responsibility is more about providing you with the best condition for learning”
Prof Adamu, however advised the fresh students to shun anti-social vices such as cultism as well as sexual harassment by lecturers, and urged them to behave well as well as pursue their studies.
In an interview with journalists at the occasion, Dr. Greg Onwoi, disclosed that the special study center for Immigration services in Gwagwalada matriculated a total number of 106 students in this year’s academic session.
He further revealed that the students of Open University who graduated below the age of 30 years can go for NYSC to serve the nation, adding that the law graduates from the Open University can enroll into the law school of Nigeria.
Onwodi expressed with joy that most of the courses offered by the students of the University were accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Meanwhile, the registrar of the special study centre for Immigration services administered the fresh students on the matriculation oath-taking.
