Anambra RTEAN seeks govt. intervention in curbing touts

The Anambra state chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Comrade Celestine Afam Anere has called for a better synergy with the state governor, Willie Obiano in curbing criminal elements in the state transport sector.
Comrade Celestine Afam Anere made the call while congratulating Governor Obiano on the recently concluded general elections where APGA secured 26 seats out of 30 in the State.
Celestine Afam Anere who also is the deputy president, operations said RTEAN as the trade union is responsible for the activities of all commercial vehicles in Nigeria, are willing to collaborate with the Anambra state government in achieving it aims in revenue collection.
He said with RTEAN fully in charge, it will help to curb criminal activities in the transport sector across the state, saying RTEAN is a registered trade union with over 16 million members across the country.
He also added that RTEAN is ready to boost the revenue profile of the state with over 100 million naira monthly in the transport sector if the governor acceded to his request of partnering with RTEAN to eradicate touts and the cabals.
