A Civil Society Group and Election Observer in the just concluded Election in Kano State has described as falsehood the information been peddled by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that Elections in Kano especially the Re-run was not free and credible.
The Group StandNigeria Initiative went further to describe the recent interview captioned “WHY GANDUJE’S RE-ELECTION CANNOT STAND” by the PDP’s Gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf as misleading the general public especially those who were not in Kano for the Re-run Elections because those who were on ground indeed knows that elections were not only credible but free and fair.
In raising the alarm on the calculated attempt to condemn the elections said that the PDP has set an elaborate propaganda mechanism to discredit the Kano Elections and Observer’s report describing Elections as credible, this is not good for the polity considering it can lead to crisis and anarchy.
The Group Coordinator, Mr James Waya made this statement while updating the press on its activities on the general elections in Nigeria.
it went further to warn Nigerians on the misleading information on Kano elections and implications of worrisome pictures and information being peddled on social media recently.
He however called on Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) to enhance their activities and learn with problems of 2019 Elections to prepare for a near perfect 2023 Elections so that Nigerians and the global community can have confidence in our electoral process.
