As the 2015-2019 tenure came to an end, the Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has approved the dissolution of governing councils/boards of some tertiary institutions and agencies under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the State.
The dissolution with immediate effect was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adumu Abdulkadir Fanini yesterday in Dutse the state capital.
According to the statement, the affected tertiary institutions and the agencies include College of Education, Gumel, Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, and Jigawa State Institute for Information Technology, Kazaure.
Others are College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Ringim, Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, Jigawa State Library Board, Islamic Education Bureau and Jigawa State Scholarship Board.
The statement extend government ‘s appreciation for the services rendered by the members and hoped that they should avail themselves whenever similar call is made to serve the State.
