Adamawa: Lawmaker offers free medical treatment to 10,0000 patients

The constituents of the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District have started yielding positive results with the provision of free medical treatment to over 10,000 patients courtesy of Senator Binos Yaroe .
Flagging off the exercise in Demsa town LCCN Referral Centre,Senator Yaroe said it is part of his campaign promises to always support the underprivileged in his constituency who have health problems.
Yaroe urged patience to remain organized as they receive treatment during the one week medical reach out exercise, adding that a bigger one that would last two weeks would be coming where some medical experts from USA would be involved.
He reiterated his commitment as a lawmaker to mobilize for more funding to health sector for it’s to meet the growing health challenges in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Team Leader of the medical team, Dr Talemoh Wyclffe, said the exercise funded by the senator would be handled by Soteria-Afrique Rural Healthcare Initiative in collaboration with Christian Broadcasting Network.
Wycliffe said about 10,000 patients were expected to be attended to within one week by the medical team comprised of 20 medical doctors alongside nurses and other medical scientists.
“We hope to operate between 400 to 500 people within the week, and ailments to be attended to include common ailments and things like eyes and tooth problems.
“We also have counsellors to counsel people that need counselling.”
Wycliffe urged local government chairmen in the nine local government areas that made up Adamawa South Senatorial Zone to compliment the gesture by the senator by providing vehicles to convoy patients in their areas to come and assess the free treatment.
Many of the patients who spoke lauded the initiative and urged other politicians to emulate the senator in complimenting government.
