A senior magistrate at the Gwagwalada Magistrate Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Aliyu Y. Shafa on Thursday swore-in the council secretary, six supervisory councilors and six Senior Special Advisers in Gwagwalada Area Council.
Shafa told the gathering not to laugh when the political appointees were taking the oath of office, saying that oath taking is a serious matter.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the council, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze, charged the appointees to work closely with him to move the Area Council to the next level.
He also advised the appointees to assist the electorates financially whenever the need arises.
While fielding questions from the newsmen, Danze said the arrangements are in top gear to repair the dilapidated roads in Gwagwalada.
In an interview, the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Danladi Chiya urged the appointees to be good ambassadors of their people.
He, therefore, advised the appointees to see themselves as the messengers of the people, charging them to remain committed to the affairs of the Area Council.
On her part, the newly sworn-in secretary of the Council, Hajiya Aminat Alimi, tasked the political office holders to empower their people financially to enable them to feel the impact of the administration.
She, however, warned the appointees not to run away from the people in terms of their needs, and pleaded with them to always support the executive chairman of the council.
