Police detectives attached to the Delta state Police Command have commenced investigation into the attempt by four persons to smuggle themselves into the National Youth Service Corps,{NYSC) Orientation Camp of Batch B” Stream 11, currently ongoing.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Adeyinka Adeleke who confirmed the investigation process to journalists in Asaba on Wednesday at a news conference, said that though the suspects are on the run, all efforts have been put in place with a view to ensuring they are brought to book and made to answer some questions.
“We have received report from the NYSC Delta state Coordinator of how he foiled their attempt to be part of the orientation camp with doubtful credentials and we have swung into action to fish them out with their names through the documents they summited and foun to be fake and we will ensure it serves as deterrent to others” Adeyinka said.
It was gathered that four prospective Corps members with suspicious academic credentials were few days ago denied registration by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Delta State.
The state Coordinator of NYSC, Mr Benjamin Ayodele Omotade who confirmed the development to journalists on Wednesday at Issele Uku, said NYSC would not back down until all those who forged their certificates are fished out, disclosing that the four persons presented bogus credentials from purported foreign universities which were screened to be fake.
Omotade disclosed that names of prospective Corps members were sent to the police including others for investigation, adding that Corps members at the camp have so far shown high level of discipline and commitment in their service to humanity.
