Enugu State House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports, led by the chairman, Hon. Chinedu Ukwu representing Aninri constituency Friday payed a familiarization visit to Rangers Management Corporation in Rangers office.
The committee upon its inauguration embarked on familiarization visits to acquaint themselves of the facilities and organs of government under their jurisdiction.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Chinedu Ukwu who was visibly happy with the Rangers Management team amongst other things, expressed his concern in the following words, “we are in your office to familiarize our selves with you to know how and where to help you in form of legislative backings in the cause of the discharge of your functions”.
The General Manager of Rangers International football club of Enugu, Prince Davidson Owumi in his welcome address extrayed his achievements in stabilizing the office since he assumed duty in addition to lifting the 2018/2019 Aiteo cup, becoming overall best team in the 2019/2020 abridged league, best Coach of the year – back to back as well as good representation of Nigeria in CAF Confederation Cup campaigns.
A member of the Committee and also Chairman House committee on Economic and Poverty Reduction Hon. Johnson ChukwuObasi(Awgu South) adviced the Management to link the integration of junior Rangers players with the senior(professionals) in one of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s developmental agenda on ‘youth development’.
Other members of the Committee on the entourage are Hon. Ibekaku Onoh(Enugu North) and Hon. Hillary Ugwu(Enugu East Rural).
