Date:

From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna

The people of Kagara Emirate Development Association (KEDA) has appealed to the Niger state government and security outfits to urgently addressed the political motivated violence, thuggery and political killing that had led to the death of one person in the area.
This was contained in a press statement issued in Minna yesterday by the association’s Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Isah Kusherki, who condoled with the family of the deceased, Ismail Dahiru Tunga Bako, who was stabbed to death during a political rally in Kagara.
This was not unconnected with the ongoing political campaigns for the election of the local government councils since the made public of the scheduled elections in Niger state slated for November this year.
Alhaji Isah Kusherki said that KEDA has condemned what he described as an irresponsible act of hooliganism exhibited in the area by the chairmanship aspirants who rather than preaching peace does otherwise.
He called on Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and the All Progressive Congress to disqualify the two aspirants from contesting the November Council elections for jeopardizing the long existing peace in the area.
The embattled aspirants are the immediate past ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Kagara (Bojo) and the State Organizing Secretary of APC, Alhaji Musa Modibo, who brought himself to High Court 3 where charges was read for them and granted bail of N200,000 with a surety.
Magistrate Nasiru Muazu warned them to behave themselves hence the court will fish them out if any of such incident occurred again in the area, assuring that the law will surely catch up with them.
