The people of Ja’agi in Mokwa local government of Niger State have appealed to the state government and security agencies to ensure peace returned to the community that is witnessing persistence crisis that has recorded destruction of properties and several injuries.
The community spokesman and Madamin Ja’agi, Alhaji Idris Ahmed disclosed in an interview yesterday while speaking to journalists in Minna, saying that the people have caused mayhem on their lives about three times without security action.
He lamented that the troubled started when the village head pronounced deposition of the chief Imam without concrete reasons and named another person to take over as Imam.
Alhaji Ahmed raised alarm that the community has experienced three (3) different attacks and urged Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to quickly intervene to ensure peace and to curb reoccurrence.
It could be recalled that the people of the community could not hold their Idil Kabir prayer because of the crisis that erupted at the prayer ground by the two factions in the community.
It was gathered that 10 cars, 17 motorcycles and houses were destroyed in addition to 14 people injured and hospitalized then due to the injuries they inflicted on each other.
