Worried by the general insecurity bedeviling the nation especially the northern region, the Council of Imams and Ulama Kaduna State yesterday convened in the state capital to seek the face of Allah for intervention.
Speaking to newsmen, Secretary of the Council, Mallam Yusuf Arrigasiyyu, said the gathering was to discuss the security challenges in the country, and also offers special prayer.
According to him, insecurity affects everybody as it cripple the economy, travelers are restricted and the country is under siege imposed by the criminals.
He disclosed that the meeting will map a way forward to salvage the situation.
The Chairman of the Council Shaykh Ibrahim Nakaka, said Imams and Ulama are advised to use their sermons and preach repentance so that perpetrators could turn a new leaf.
In his remarks, Secretary General of Jama’tul Nasril Islam, (JNI), Dr. Khalid Aliyu, tasked the Imams and Ulama to dissociate themselves from being used by politicians for their selfish purpose, rather they should concentrate on their divine callings.
He added that if the Clerics are sincere in their given duty they will be able to inculcate the fear of Allah in their followers which will help to reduce security challenges.
