NITP set for 50th annual conference in October

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP),said the institute’s 50th annual conference and annual general meeting is slated to hold from 28th October to 1st of November 2019 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Public Relations Secretary, Tpl Sani Daniel,said that the annual conference has the theme “Regenerating Nigerian Cities” .
The statement explained that” the purpose of this meeting is to appreciate the courage and doggedness of our members through the electioneering process and to celebrate their successes. It is also intended to encourage them on making use of basic principles of the profession to manage their offices to achieve excellence and enable the electorate enjoy dividends of democracy”.
The National President of the Institute Tpl Lekwa Ezutah, FNITP will host and celebrate all town planners who were elected in the last general elections and members who have been appointed to political offices in the current dispensation.
The Oyo State Governor,Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde is expected to declare the conference open on October 28th .
Also,Tpl.Hon. Uko Nkole,Member Federal House of Representatives has been appointed to coordinate this event.
Other expected members at this annual conference are : Tpl. Darius D. Ishaku,Tpl Uko Nkole Ndukwe, Tpl. Dr. Ramatu Tijani, Tpl. Dr. Idris S. Okanla, Tpl. Prof Ahmed Adamu,Tpl Chief Steve Onu, Tpl Ibrahim Hussein, Tpl Prof Mrs Opunuebo Owei and other members already invited.
The statement said the choice of Ibadan as the hosting State capital for the National Conference is as a result of its strategic historical relevance being the cradle where the professional body was formed in 1966.
