Masari cautions religious leaders, monarchs against inciting utterances

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has emphasized the need for religious and traditional leaders to guard against utterances that could further create divisions within the Muslim Ummah.
Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari was speaking during the opening session of “MAKON SHEHU” held at the conference Hall of Katsina State Local Government Service Commission along Kaita road in katsina.
The Governor expressed the hope that the SHEHU WEEK would help to create more avenues for unity among the Muslim ummah and also help to discover more ways of sustaining peace.
He advised that speeches and paper presentations would ensure the unity of the Ummah and not to further disunite people.
On the other hand,he said the Ulamas needed to contribute towards educating herdsmen in the Forests who lacked basic religious and Western education.
Nowadays, Governor Masari observed that herdsmen only make their children to inherit guns instead of flocks of cattle.
He assured that katsina State government would support community and religious leaders to do everything possible to return katsina to the path of peaceful coexistence.
In a remarks, the Emir of katsina, Alhaji Abdulmummuni Kabir Usman also called for unity among the Muslim faithful.
The Emir said he was happy with the loyalty of members of the Tijjaniyya sect to the constituted authorities in the state.
He commended them for the prayers for peaceful coexistence to the Emirate, the state and the nation at large.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Mallam AbdulAziz Mashi assured that the theme of the conference would be adhered to for people to understand the position of Tijjaniya in the annals of Islamic religion.
