Chances of my re-election high, Obaseki assures investors

National President, Nigeria Association of Auctioneers, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya has appealed to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation to engage the authentic members of Nigeria Association of Auctioneers.
Alhaji Kiliya further said the recovered assets are overdue for disposal and urged the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to speed up the auction sales of those items to avoid further wastage.
Kiliya said this in Abuja yesterday following a delegation of the Ministry of Justice to take charge of sales of all recovered and forfeited assets to the federal government
He said: “I want to appeal to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation to engage the services of authentic and verifiable professional auctioneers with the wide knowledge and experience in the business of auctioneering who are registered members of the authentic umbrella body of the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers.
“We have been at the forefront charting the cause for sales of all recovered and forfeited assets to be handled by the Ministry of Justice and I want to thank the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari for heeding to my calls.
“This is because most of the items have gone through litigation and my members, the authentic body of Nigeria Association of Auctioneers who are professional auctioneers with relevant documents as stipulated by the Bureau of Public Procurement Act 2007.
We have people of good reputation, long term experience those we can checkmate their activities in the handling of auction sales.
According to him, a lot must be considered because of the technicalities involved in the auctioneering business and care must be taken in engaging any person(s) for the disposal of the recovered and forfeited assets.
He warned those parading themselves as auctioneers without relevant documents as stipulated by BPP Act 2007 and are not properly registered with the authentic Nigeria Association of Auctioneers headed by him to desist from doing so.
“The right thing must be done to avoid a very bad outcome of the these sales now that our appeal to the federal government to sale all recovered and forfeited assets has been accepted through our recommendation to the Ministry of Justice to take charge of the sales.
He promised that his members will ensure transparency in the sales of the public assets and commended President Muhammad Buhari for choosing the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation for the hard job”.
